New Construction Manager

General Role:
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the New Construction Manager (NCM) plans and implements the new construction program and the construction safety program resulting in the completion of newly constructed homes for Habitat for Humanity of Washington County (HFHWC).

Primary Role:
The NCM is primarily responsible for the new construction of homes in compliance with Habitat for Humanity International standards, federal and state laws, donor-related requirements, and HFHWC’s policies, procedures, budgets, and strategic plans. The NCM coordinates the construction of safe, decent, affordable housing by facilitating the construction process and creating a positive atmosphere for sub-contractors, volunteers, staff and donors.

• Participate in the construction and supervision of site supervisors, crew leaders, volunteers, vendors and subcontractors.
• Procure construction labor and materials through competitive bid process and in-kind opportunities.
• Create schedules, budgets and materials and supply lists for all new HFHWC projects.
• Ensure that safety guidelines are followed and safety equipment and training are provided to construction teams and daily volunteers.
• Hold the main responsibility for the delivery of homes/projects on time, within budget and built in accordance with applicable building codes and other requirements.
• Be skilled in detailed techniques and principles of construction, construction scheduling, procurement, budgeting, warranty program, recordkeeping and continuous improvement.
• Work with construction committee to identify suitable building lots and house plans.
• Work with various municipal staff and other agencies on the application and approval of permits, inspections and specifications as required.
• Maintain tools, equipment and safety supplies inventory.
• Facilitate the completion of “punch-list” items.
• Conduct walk-through inspection with family upon completion of the home and in response to call backs, warranty issues, or maintenance advice.

Position Conditions:
Position is exempt and full-time as defined by the HFHWC Employee Handbook. The work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday but may include evenings and Mondays. Office hours and location of work are flexible.

Minimum 5 (five) years of experience in residential construction with a working knowledge of state and local building codes. Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to organize and manage construction sites and volunteers. Technical understanding of land and infrastructure design and ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications as well as skills in the use of tools is required. Must pass background/drug screen/credit check, complete Competent Person Training (OSHA Safety), and pass Arkansas Business and Law Exam following employment. Forward resume to

Position: Construction Project Manager

The Stitt Group is seeking a Construction Project Manager to work with our team and network of builder partners in the administration of plans, our building process, and the proper use and installation of our materials. The primary responsibility will be to represent our company and the client in the construction of their new home.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

·         Review and interpret construction plans to builder partners

We are looking for a knowledgeable, experienced construction foreman to coordinate operations and oversee workers at our numerous construction sites. As the liaison between workers and supervisors, the foreman will be the key person in charge of overseeing the completion of the project with a keen awareness of material expenses, permits, and employee safety. Foreman Duties and Responsibilities

· Oversee and ensure that all safety rules are being followed at all construction sites at all times

· Produce work schedules in accordance with the availability of employees, contractors and labor laws and monitor the attendance of crew

· Professionally work with homeowners during remodels to ensure customer requirements are met

· Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, adjusting as necessary due to weather, supply delivery, and personnel

· Ability to manage multiple and sub-contractors.

· Emphasis on the safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment including training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures

· Develop and oversee quality standards on all sites

Job Summary

Assists the Delivery Driver with ensuring quality and loading product for delivery.  Delivering and installing product to the satisfaction of the customer in a timely manner with no damage to the merchandise.  Responsible for completing in home deliveries, safety, vehicle maintenance, and inventory security.   Within the warehouse, responsible for loading, unloading, organizing and inspection of new furniture and accessories, as well as rewrapping and relocating returned furniture. 

Supervision Received

Direct reporting to and supervision from the Warehouse Manager; takes direction and instruction from the Delivery Driver.

Essential Functions

Inspecting merchandise to insure customer satisfaction before the loading process begins;

Loading vehicle to secure merchandise, prevent damage during transit and expedite the delivery process;

Securing the merchandise loaded on the truck as well as all company owned property in the truck;

Assisting the Delivery Driver with directions to the predetermined locations using Dispatch Track;

Delivering and setting up merchandise in customer’s home to the satisfaction of the customer;

Performing minor touch up in the customer’s home or in the warehouse;

Maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle (cab/box, fold pads, hang ties) daily;

Assist Delivery Driver with the inspection of the truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, diesel exhaust additive, oil, and water to insure safety and proper maintenance of the vehicle;

Assist with performing routine or simple maintenance on the vehicle as well as its tools and supplies;

Unloading, staging, and receiving new merchandise into inventory using a bar code scanner;

Opening and inspecting damaged cartons immediately to assess the damage

Picking furniture for delivery and customer pick ups by using a picking report;

Opening the picked product and placing it in the appropriate area for delivery;

Assembling merchandise;

Inspecting the merchandise for defects;

Performing minor touch up when needed;

Assisting with loading merchandise in customers vehicles for pick up;

Keeping the warehouse clean and free of all safety hazards;

Sweeping warehouse floors daily and throwing trash in appropriate areas;

Assuming the duties of the Delivery Driver (if authorized) or Delivery Helper if needed (if applicable to facility);

Assisting Visual Merchandiser with floor moves and resets;

Following safety guidelines and reports any unsafe happening or concern to warehouse manager immediately;

Performing other related duties or special projects as assigned.

Required Education/Experience/Abilities/Skills

High School diploma or GED equivalency certificate;

Valid Driver’s License and a maintained clear and safe driving record
