Delivering and installing product to the satisfaction of the customer in a timely manner with no damage to the merchandise. Responsible for completing in home deliveries, safety, vehicle maintenance, and inventory security. Within the warehouse, responsible for loading, unloading, organizing and inspection of new furniture and accessories, as well as rewrapping and relocating returned furniture.
Direct reporting to and supervision from the Warehouse Manager; takes direction and instruction from the Delivery Driver.
Inspecting merchandise to insure customer satisfaction before the loading process begins;
Loading vehicle to secure merchandise, prevent damage during transit and expedite the delivery process;
Securing the merchandise loaded on the truck as well as all company owned property in the truck;
Assisting the Delivery Driver with directions to the predetermined locations using Dispatch Track;
Delivering and setting up merchandise in customer’s home to the satisfaction of the customer;
Performing minor touch up in the customer’s home or in the warehouse;
Maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle (cab/box, fold pads, hang ties) daily;
Assist Delivery Driver with the inspection of the truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, diesel exhaust additive, oil, and water to insure safety and proper maintenance of the vehicle;
Assist with performing routine or simple maintenance on the vehicle as well as its tools and supplies;
Unloading, staging, and receiving new merchandise into inventory using a bar code scanner;
Opening and inspecting damaged cartons immediately to assess the damage
Picking furniture for delivery and customer pick ups by using a picking report;
Opening the picked product and placing it in the appropriate area for delivery;
Inspecting the merchandise for defects;
Performing minor touch up when needed;
Assisting with loading merchandise in customers vehicles for pick up;
Keeping the warehouse clean and free of all safety hazards;
Sweeping warehouse floors daily and throwing trash in appropriate areas;
Assuming the duties of the Delivery Driver (if authorized) or Delivery Helper if needed (if applicable to facility);
Assisting Visual Merchandiser with floor moves and resets;
Following safety guidelines and reports any unsafe happening or concern to warehouse manager immediately;
